Twin Episodes of Stargate

— Matt Harris @ 1:21 pm

I watched episode 3 of Stargate: SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis yesterday. Some comments:

(Spoilers ahead)

It may have been just me, but I thought SG-1 and Atlantis had pretty much the same story: a black, intangible energy creature threatens the base. In Stargate: SG-1 it was the Ascended form of Anubis; in Stargate: Atlantis it was some critter the Ancients captured when they were studying how to Ascend. The resolution was the same in each show – send the energy being through the Stargate to an empty planet. The shows even seemed to use identical special effects for the energy being (although the creature on Atlantis kept getting larger).

Overall, not very impressive, although Daniel’s reaction to being shot was very funny.
